Continuing Care Programs for Long-Term Recovery
EXTENDED CARE/AFTERCARE PROGRAMS
Substance use can cause profound changes in brain and body chemistry and one of the first priorities in recovery from addiction is to detoxify from toxic chemicals and their byproducts. Licensed by the State of Texas, alcohol and drug detoxification centers provide support and medical supervision during the first few hours or days of abstinence, when withdrawal can be physically overwhelming or even dangerous.
Detox is frequently the first step of the chemical dependency treatment process and must be administered by medical professionals. Patients are stabilized over a period of three to seven days based upon their medical condition.
Addiction recovery professionals agree and studies show, the longer a person is in a structured recovery and/or rehab program, the greater the chances of staying sober. Extended care programs will vary in length, cost, amenities, ancillary programs, and type of support, but the basic intention is the same…to provide additional support for those coming out of residential treatment programs and/or for sober individuals seeking more structure and support as opposed to what is offered in a traditional sober living home environment. Some treatment organizations will offer extended care as well as there are stand-alone extended care programs.

Infinite Recovery Adult Aftercare program services are offered twice a week for 1.5 hours to clients that have completed partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programs. Outpatient individual and family therapy sessions are also offered to clients. Adult Aftercare program services include the following:
