Adult Outpatient Rehab and Treatment

Austin and the Central Texas area has many excellent treatment and recovery options for residential and outpatient recovery.  An intensive outpatient program or IOP provides a non-residential treatment program for alcoholism and drug abuse. They are usually 6-8 weeks in duration and meet several days a week or on the weekend.  IOP's are substantially less expensive than residential treatment and are sometimes used as "step down" extended-care programs for those who are completing inpatient or residential treatment. Some programs work with health insurance programs, while others are only self-pay. For more information on how to pay for treatment, the Costs and Funding page may be helpful.

When selecting an IOP, it is advisable to select a program conveniently located close to where you work and/or live. See the guidelines on the Choosing a Treatment Program page for more criteria on choosing the best fit for your needs and preferences.
