For optimum recovery and relapse prevention, transitional living is highly recommended as part of the continuum of care after alcohol and/or drug treatment.

Houses listed here with profiles and/or websites will help you determine which one meets your needs and location preference.

A transitional living house is a sober residence for those who have completed treatment at a rehabilitation facility and /or have a minimum of 30 days of sobriety.They provide daily support and structure in a cooperative living arrangement and assist the newly sober person in transitioning back into society to live independently.

Transitional houses are usually gender specific and have varying monthly fees depending on type of facility, services and support.

In 2012, a certification process was implemented for sober living and transitional homes in the Austin area. Certified homes are designated with the symbol ©. See detailed information at the bottom of this page.
