If you or someone you care for is dependent on alcohol or drugs
and needs treatment, it is important to know that no single treatment
approach is appropriate for all individuals. Finding the right treatment
program involves careful consideration of such things as the setting,
length of care, philosophical approach and your or your loved ones
Here are 12 questions to consider when selecting a treatment program.

Choosing A Treatment Program Checklist
There are many treatment facilities and programs to choose from in the Central Texas area. See the pages listed on the left side of page under "Central Texas Alcohol & Drug Treatment". Each facility/program has a brief description and a website.
All of them will take your calls, answer your questions, and make an appointment to talk to you at their facility if you are interested.
If you have money or insurance....
Most treatment centers will accept cash, credit cards, and money orders. If you have insurance, some or all of your treatment cost may be covered by your insurance. The treatment center representative can check with your insurance company to find out.
If you don't have any money or insurance...
Unfortunately, there are very few public funded programs in Texas. The State of Texas Health and Human Services provides a screening service to help Texas residents with no income or insurance who need treatment.
OSAR (Outreach, Screening, Assessment, Referral) works with the individual, family and support system in helping
to find the appropriate level of care in the community.

You will need to schedule an appointment for an interview, fill out paperwork and be placed on a waiting list.
